There are four words called demonstratives

2. ·         That
3. ·         These
4. ·         This

This Singular For something really near you Or something you can touch Singular Para algo muy cerca de ti o que puedes tocar	That Singular For something far away from you Or that you can no touch Singular Para algo que esta lejor de ti o que no puedes tocar
These Plural For things close or near to you; For things you can touch Plural Para cosas cerca de ti o que puedes tocar	Those Plural For things far away from you, for things you can not touch. Plural Para cosas lejos de ti o que no puedes tocar.

Examples

•          Singular near. (cerca)

This is a pencil.

•          Singular far, (lejos)

That is a red car.

•          Plural near. (cerca)

These are markers.

•          Plural far. (lejos)

Those are cows over there in the field.

     Demonstratives are used to show or attract attention to something of which we are talking.

     Se utilizan para enseñar algo o atraer atención a algo sobre lo que estamos hablando.
